摘要
Topic: Snake in the grass: Clinical pitfalls revealed by CBCT imaging

The myth of the flat earth is believed to be the modern misconception. A misconception in modern Orthodontics may be the myth of the paradigm shift of orthodontic treatment with the use of the temporary anchorage device (TAD). Of course, the TAD has dramatically changed the orthodontic treatment planning. However, is it always the end-all-be-all solution?
The application of the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) has apparently changed orthodontic diagnosis providing the accurate three-dimensional evaluation for the impacted teeth, airway abnormalities and temporomandibular joint disorders, etc. Moreover, CBCT imaging can be fully used in the treatment planning when we move the maxillary teeth- not to be bitten by the snake!
The aim of the lecture is to update and share the knowledge about the possible barriers in the maxilla such as the incisive canal and the maxillary sinus thorough our recent studies and relevant cases.
