Abstract
Topic: Clinical application and mechanical thinking of implant anchorage in the treatment of bimaxillary protrusion

Bimaxillary protrusion is a common sagittal malocclusion, which is characterized by protrusion of both maxillary and mandibular jaws and convex profile, which seriously affects the appearance.Improving the profile protrusion is the main demand of adult patients with bimaxillary protrusion. For the clinical treatment of adult patients with bimaxillary protrusion, it is not only to reduce the coverage and protrusion of upper and lower teeth, but also to improve the protrusion of lips and obtain better profile appearance. As the absolute anchorage, the implant anchorage is applied to the orthodontic treatment of adult bimaxillary protrusion, It can maximize the use of extraction space to retract anterior teeth, improve the protrusion of lips and face shape, and obtain more satisfactory orthodontic effect. However, it is difficult to open the anterior overbit during the process of large retraction. In addition, poor torque control of the anterior teeth will further deepen the overbite, leading to treatment failure. This article discusses in detail how to control the overbite and the torque in anterior teeth during the process of large retraction.
